Description

The BAG 19 is the most colorful bag that celebrates the most special year of Matera. Born from one of the graphics of the Passèt / Future collection of EGO55, hand-stitched by migrants seeking asylum in the laboratories of the Sprar de Il Sicomoro in Matera. A practical light, capacious and resistant bag, to give color to every day of this special 2019. The limited edition BAG 19 contains the complete collection of the 12 Passèt-Future postcards (a collection that can not be purchased separately).

The Passèt-Future project has accompanied the city throughout 2018: 12 postcards for 12 months until 19 January 2019.

The collection includes 12 limited edition postcards. The postcards make up a Puzzle made of traditional elements and not that tell the path of development and evolution of Matera from the past to the future. Changes and visions in over 10,000 years of history. Symbols of a journey that has led Matera to be the European Capital of Culture for 2019.

The color that renews, distorts, enhances and modernizes centuries of history. The photographic elaborations express the evolution over time of those same elements seen with a new light, which belong and will always belong to the local community. Chromatic evolution, linguistic evolution, ideal evolution.
The dialectal language that continually evolves and attests to a growth or decrease of the territory, gives the name to the “Passèt/Future” collection. “Passét” or “past” in the Matera dialect and “Future”, future in English. From the local dialect to English , from the Lucanian land to Europe.

The subject chosen for the BAG 19 is the postcard 10/12 representing the Rosone of the Cathedral of Matera – U r’sàn d’la Chiess Modr d ‘Matàr.
